Hamilton - An American Musical - Key Art
Hamilton - An American Musical - Key Art

As part of the collaborative team, I helped to create the iconic key art for Hamilton, the Tony Award Winning smash hit.

Under the direction of photographer Matthew Murphy, I was flown to New York to create a multifaceted lighting design that would create crisp silhouettes as well as fully rendered color images for a later book publication.
My other key role was to act as posing coach to the actors. This was a role that was created after noticing the need for movement and posing direction on set, and operated as a way to keep the actors comfortable, and create a concise communication link between the creative team behind the camera, and the production team and actors on set.
This multifaceted shoot worked with the entire cast, creative team, and marketing team, both onsite and remotely watching via video link.

VANITY FAIR - Lea Salonga, George Takei, Telly Leung

As part of the promotional series of shoots for Allegiance the Musical on Broadway, a semi-biographic show of George Takei's life experience, starred the icon along with Lea Salonga and Telly Leung.

The shoot, creative direction by Mitch Dean, was shot by Luke Fontana. My role as posing coach and production assistant helped to create elegant positioning that showcased the wardrobe and the relationship amongst the actors.

Over the course of 3 photoshoots in New York City, the key art for the semi-biographic musical of George Takei's life was created. The art would later be featured on the theatre's marquee, on Billboard's in Times Square, in advertising, and posters throughout New York City.

Led my photographer Matthew Murphy, I worked as lighting designer to create this dreamlike skylight, while working in the confines of a studio. Also working as posing coach, I was able to guide the actors into comfortable engagement with each other and the with the camera.

Gigi: The Broadway Musical starring Vanessa Hudgens

In creating the Key Art for Gigi the Broadway Musical, that would be featured on the theatre's marquee, Times Square Billboard, and in publications including a feature in People magazine, I was flown to New York to work with photographer Matthew Murphy. As posing coach and lighting designer, we created crisp images that gave a buoyancy to the formal wardrobe Vanessa wore.

In my role as posing coach, I kept Vanessa at ease and helped her to understand how to create movement in the stuff fabrics, and feel effortless while fitted in a tight corset.

All of this was created on a swift schedule, with the client only set for a total of 20 minutes.

Aladdin The Musical : Souvenir Book
Aladdin The Musical : Souvenir Book

Disney Theatricals wanted to create moody mystical images to compliment the existing art created for Aladdin's Broadway Debut, and these images were featured in publicity, a souvenir book, and on the exterior of the theatre on 42nd Street.

Working with photographer Matthew Murphy, we set up our shoot in the basement of the New Amsterdam Theatre where the show was in it's finally technical process. Working with Thomas Schumacher and his team, we used vintage lighting techniques, utilizing fresnel lamps, to create these moody images, as well as fully lit costume archival images.

For this shoot, I operated as production coordinator, on set lighting designer, and during the shoot, also functioned as posing coach to help create vivid and magical movement.

Aladdin: NYE Wishes
Aladdin: NYE Wishes

New Year's Eve Wishes was a campaign featuring the leading actors of Aladdin the musical.

The cast and crew climbed to the top of the Times Square roof where the NYE ball has it's home. With limited lighting gear, strong winds, and precarious balance, this image was a combination of direction, lighting and post production.
My role was to guide the actors to work cooperatively, coordinate the confetti throwing, and later composite in additional confetti pieces and retouch detailed aspects, including removing fishness stockings from Courtney Reed (Jasmine)'s waist, and adjust the hue of the ball, which had rendered as pure white in the raw image.

This ground breaking dancing company is created by So You Think You Can Dance Stars Travis Wall, Nick Lazzarini, and dancers Teddy Forance, and Kyle Robinson.

For their forth coming production tour, they envisioned an historic theatre. I scouted and researched a multitude of hundred year old theaters across Los Angeles, and worked with the team at the Montalban Theatre in Hollywood.

As lighting designer and production assistant to photographer Matthew Murphy, the images captured create a sensation of gravity defied.
